Jacky's wins RetailME's 'Online Retailer of the Year' award

Jacky's success in harnessing the power of the Internet for online sales has won the company the 'Online Retailer of the Year' award from RetailME, a Middle East B2B magazine dedicated to covering the region's retail industry.

Jacky's, which celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2005, started as a mail order business, later expanding into retail. The retail and the mail order businesses are the main contributors to the e-commerce success that Jacky's enjoys today, said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky's Electronics. "Both businesses contributed to the birth of the Jacky's e-commerce division, as we were very clear that we would like to use the Internet as another avenue for potential sales," he said.

Early recognition for Jacky's online efforts could be seen through its listing in Forbes Global Interactive Money Guide's - Best of the Web (electronics) in September 1999. In 2001 Jacky's was awarded e-business partner of the year by Hewlett-Packard. Jacky's today continues to grow its e-commerce activities through strategic alliances, such as with Tejari.com, through which it generates strong online sales.
