"These new facilities will enable us to refine and expand our existing operations and allow us to deliver even more value added services to our customers," said Ahmed Gamal, Country Manager - Bahrain, TNT Express.
"This expansion is also a direct response to growing region-wide demand for end-to-end logistics solutions and to accommodate TNT's annual growth rate of 30% in our express business. We are focusing on our core express business and networks and success in this area is dependant upon high quality bonded facilities."
TNT's planned investment is expected to create an additional 20 jobs for Bahraini nationals.
"We are determined to create competitive advantage through recruiting, maintaining and developing high quality employees," added Gamal.
"We have created a number of new positions and promoted several Bahrainis into key roles. We believe this trend will continue in line with our business growth and provide great opportunity for high calibre nationals."
TNT's most recent Bahraini recruits are Habib Abdulla Habib who was appointed Hub Controller, where he will be responsible for all inbound and transhipment consignments and Mohammed Al Madhoob who has been promoted to Operations Controller after five years in the company as Warehouse Agent in Manama.
