eCompany email subscribers can send Email2SMS message using the eCompany's Web Mail client at www.eimmail.ae or any other email client like MS Outlook , Netscape Messenger etc .
To send an SMS message, subscribers only need to enter the recipient(s)' mobile number(s) @ the domain name of the Email2SMS service using the full mobile number format (i.e. for international SMS- + CountryCode OperatorCode MobileNumber@email2sms.ae, for local SMS an example is - 0501112222@email2sms.ae).
The service allows sending English and Arabic SMS messages with the support for long messages of up to 560 characters for English and 280 characters for Arabic. The Email2SMS service has no subscription or monthly recurring charges. It is available to all eCompany mail subscribers. SMS charges are as per the Etisalat present applicable rates and are billed to the eCompany Internet subscriber.
According to Abdulla Hashim, Assistant General Manager, eCompany, "We are very pleased to be able to offer the convenience and ease of use of the email2SMS service for our valued EIM Mail subscribers. This will give them a simple option to send SMS messages even when they do not have a mobile phone, or run out of their mobile prepaid credit or are traveling outside the UAE without a roaming facility enabled on their phone. This reiterates our commitment to constantly provide our customers with value added features for a convenient and secure email service which comes with comprehensive free anti virus and anti spam protection."
