RAK to set up Enterprise Business Platform (EBP) connecting all Government departments

The Ras Al Khaimah Electronic Government Authority (RAK-EGA) has signed an agreement with US based B2 Technology and Consulting Services, Inc. (B2TeCS) to implement an internet enabled e-communications platform in all the government departments in Ras Al Khaimah.

throughout the Government of Ras Al Khaimah", he said.
Dr. Rahul Bhatnagar, President and CEO of B2TeCS said that a sound information technology infrastructure is a critical element to maintain the extraordinary development and transformation that is taking place in Ras Al Khaimah. "We have made a major investment in establishing our office in Ras Al Khaimah and we believe that this
project and others in the UAE in the years to come will further establish us as a significant information technology partner to both
government and commercial clients throughout the UAE", he added.
Dr Hashem Refaei said that the EBP project will become operational in about six months. He pointed out that the B2TeCS EBP will allow for
customized formats for e-mails, featuring a logo or seal of various departments, designed for use by senior officials and which could be sent through internet or PDA.
It would also support sending SMS alerts of important messages, will have integrated capabilities for scanning documents directly into the unified electronic repository and integrated faxing capabilities. The system will also allow for archiving all documents, incoming/outgoing e-mails, faxes, letters, etc. It will also have the capability to encrypt all communications to maintain the security and privacy of departmental data and will provide an e-Agenda for the users with all the facilities and capabilities of a standard calendar and agenda application, including electronic reminder.
