Type Approval Permit certification is offered to suppliers or vendors looking to market or sell their telecom equipment in the UAE, and is a certification that guarantees product compatibility with Etisalat’s Network.

USRobotics’ Wireless MAXg ADSL2+ Gateway (USR819108), the latest addition to the USRobotics’ MAXg product family, was given the recognition from UAE Lab. The USR9108 combines the latest ADSL2+ technology with the company’s exclusive MAXg wireless technology to offer complete home or small business wireless broadband networking solutions.

Sumit Kumar, USRobotics’ Regional Manager, Middle East and North Africa, said,

“Receiving this important approval from UAE Lab reflects our commitment to quality testing, and highlights our efforts to include our regional telecom sector considerations in our business strategy. Our focus is not only to provide the most advanced and reliable Internet and networking products to our customers, but to make them compatible to the networks of the local telecom companies in the markets in which we operate. The USRobotics MAXg product family is the highest performing wireless gateway in its class available in the market today, and we are glad that this product has gained a new recognition with the Type Approval Permit.”

The Type Approval testing process involves a comprehensive range of tests in a controlled laboratory environment that check the safety, electrical and operational characteristics of the product aimed at protecting the end-user, suppliers, vendors and the telecom operator. The Type Approval Permit certification is a permanent certification, valid for the lifetime of the product, if no changes or upgrades occur to the equipment hardware or software.

USRobotics’ MAXg product family delivers up to 50 percent improvement in signal range and up to 125 Mbps wireless performance. The USR9108 is actually five products in one – an ADSL2+ modem for speeds up to 24 Mbps, wireless MAXg access point, 4-port router, firewall, and USB print server – making it the only device needed for confident, flexible, high performance wireless broadband networking in the home or small office. The USR819108 has a full complement of security features and is fully compatible with 802.11b and 802.11g devices, as well as other accelerated technologies.

Emirates Telecom Lab was established in 1999 to provide the service of Telecom Products testing and certification. With its state-of-the-art facilities, this Type-Approval unit is now one of the most advanced telecom equipment testing facilities throughout the Middle East.
