More than 300 UAE Nationals submitted job applications to work with Dubai Islamic Bank on the second day. Commenting on the response, Obaid Khalifah Al Shamsi, Assistant Vice President - Head of Emiratisation at DIB, said: "The 8th National Careers Exhibition is considered a unique opportunity for young nationals as it reveals the market requirements for skills and knowledge. The exhibition is a major draw for companies and institutions willing to participate in the national emiratisation process."

He highlighted that fact the exhibition was able to put together national and foreign banks that are considered major partners to the development and recruitment process in the UAE. He added:

"These institutions play a dynamic role in training national cadres especially as they provide several developmental courses to help elevate the efficiency and productivity of the national workforce."

He emphasised the importance of the National Career Exhibition and its role in enhancing Emiratisation efforts and provides the private sector, including financial institutions, with the chance to identify the skills available in the market. On the other hand, the exhibition helps national cadres identify the needs and requirements of different institutions, which assists them in identifying their educational emphasis in line with the market needs.

The participation of Dubai Islamic Bank is due to its belief that young nationals comprise the core of the country's economy and are one of its major growth factors.

Al Shamsi stressed on the fact that DIB takes the Emiratisation issue quite seriously and works relentlessly on gradually nationalising the workforce through developing the skills and knowledge of young nationals to a level where they can lead the organisation and achieve further success. It has won the UAE Human Resource Development Award by achieving a 43 per cent Emiratisation rate in the banking sector, the highest in the country.

DIB continuously organises several workshops and training courses that assist in developing its national employees. The courses play a vital role in elevating the quality of services and products provided by the bank.
