Call for diabetes strategy

The UAE needs a national diabetes strategy to deal with the chronic and progressive disease which affects an estimated one in four UAE nationals, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan told an international conference on diabetes in Al Ain. He said those at risk must be identified and educated about risk factors, and physicians must stay on top of the latest research and treatment.
