ABU at CABSAT 2006

The Middle East Broadcasting Conference is launched today at the 12th Middle East International Cable, Satellite and Broadcasting Show - CABSAT 2006 which is taking place from 7-9 March at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
"The ABU supports and works closely with the Arab States Broadcasting Union among other sister unions and associations in promoting
developments in the broadcasting community. This conference will highlight technological advances and industry updates especially catered
to the broadcasting industry in the Middle East which is undergoing exciting developments," said David Astley, Secretary-General of the ABU.
Representing over 150 broadcaster members and affiliates in 55 countries, the ABU membership extends to the Middle East where members
comprise Saudi Arabian Radio and Television, ART/Arab Radio and Television, Qatar Radio and Television Corporation and the Egypt Radio and Television Union.
The conference programme aims to keep broadcasters in the region up to date with developments in technologies and new systems for the broadcast sector - namely updates on digital TV, digital implementation issues and
experiences, and broadcasting developments in the Middle East.
