New to the line this season is tennis footwear, apparel, accessories and the new a3 Flyride shoes, which joins running, gym and swim as the main categories in the range.
Adding tennis to the collection was an easy fit for Stella: 'When I think of summer sports I immediately think about tennis, as one of the highlight sports of the season. A tennis line is something I always wanted to tackle and I am really excited to introduce this new category for the spring/summer 2006 collection.'
Key styles of the tennis collection include layered dresses, pleated skirts, cropped jackets and fitted polo shirts along with matching footwear and accessories, as worn by adidas sponsored Maria Kirilenko at the recent Dubai Tennis Championships.
For Running, Gym and Swim main silhouettes are updated and evolved for a fresh new look. What remains is the contrasting fits, from oversize to slim, which were so successful in the first seasons. Many of the spring/summer 06 pieces feature a reflector heart in husky pink that symbolizes their potential to become a favorite sports product.
'When we launched the adidas by Stella McCartney Fall / Winter 05 collection back in September, it was an immense success. It confirmed our belief that in a region when fitness is of great importance to women, they truly appreciate a unique performance product style when working out,' commented Walter Bruppacher, Head of Marketing, adidas Emerging Markets.
The range offers technologies like Clima 365®, X-Static® and Infinitex® along with breathable constructions, high-end cushioning technologies and antimicrobial treatments. adidas by Stella McCartney remains deeply rooted in sport. All the adidas expertise of incorporating technology aspects remains key in maintaining the functionality of the products.
Adding to the new adidas Stella McCartney collections comes the new a3 running shoe, the a3 Flyride. While featuring all ³ cushioning benefits, it offers softer, more flexible and lightest heel-to-toe a3 cushioning system for women. It is also the first adidas technology to be launched exclusively through the adidas by Stella McCartney range.
'I am honored to be given the opportunity to work with such an incredible technology. We have achieved a groundbreaking product: The a³ Flyride is a truly innovative women's performance product and hopefully the best looking running shoe out there,' commented McCartney.
'Enquiries have been non-stop as our customers are eager to get hold of the latest adidas Stella McCartney products. It is great that we can now offer further apparel and accessories along with the new tennis range and a3 Flyride shoes. We are sure these will prove to be a successful addition to the collection,' added Bruppacher.
The spring/summer 06 collection will be available in the Middle East in April and will be available in at adidas Sport Performance stores and exclusive retail outlets throughout the Middle East. The a3 Flyride shoes will be available in Fall/Winter 2006.
