Soma Bay, Red Sea - paradise to a tee

Egypt's Red Sea, which has some of the world's finest water sports, is now chipping in as a leading destination for golfers.
With golf emerging as a major tourist attraction, CNN looked at new course development and explored the future of the game in the land of the Pyramids. Driving forces is the magnificent Starwood property, Sheraton Soma Bay Resort with its PGA Championship Cascades golf course ranked as the 11th among the Top 20 golf courses over the world outside of Europe.
Don Riddell hosts the February programme from a number of locations around Egypt, one of them was the magnifiscent Cascades course adjoining the Sheraton Soma Bay. Riddell looked at the development of golf tourism and met some of the people investing in this development of the sport. He met with Dr. Farid Saad, Chairman & CEO of Abou Soma Development Company (the master developer of Soma Bay). Dr. Saad explained his plans and vision conecrning Golf game and its importance as a strong aspect for the future of Tourism in Egypt.
Living Golf's' exploration of Egypt closes off-course and underwater. Don uncovered what the players get up to in their spare time as he traded his golf clubs for masks and fins to explore the coral reefs of the Red Sea, as well as exploring the healing powers of the Thermes Marins Des Cascades, the thalasso therapy center at Soma Bay, for a re-invigorating treatment for both body and mind after a great day on the course.
'Living Golf' is CNN's weekly programme devoted to golf both on and off the course. The program is hosted by Don Riddell, one of CNN's 'World Sport' anchors, based in London. 'Living Golf' goes inside the lifestyle, business, travel, fashion and technological aspects of one of the world's most popular sports. The program features weekly news updates from the latest tournaments and majors, bringing the results that matter from the Ryder Cup to The Masters.
