Gulf Air has enrolled a team of 35 men and women to be the official hosts for the event. These hosts, reflecting the nation's sporting spirit and the true spirit of traditional Arabian hospitality, will receive and take care of VIP guest's needs during 10, 11, 12 March 2006 - the main race dates.

"As the main sponsor, Gulf Air is flying not only the flag for Gulf Air but also for the Kingdom of Bahrain," says Gulf Air Vice President Marketing and Sales Danny Barranger.

A recruitment drive was held earlier by Gulf Air and 35 applicants were selected - most of them Bahrainis - after taking into account their personalities, experience, abilities in certain areas and matching these qualities to the host programme's requirements. The majority of applicants were placed in key hospitality positions as they had worked for the last two F1 events and were experienced in the hospitality field.

"Gulf Air will ensure that it lives up to its high standards by taking care of their VIP guests' every need. Our VIP guests will have a great experience from the moment they arrive till the moment they leave the Kingdom. The Gulf Air hosts will be available to assist the VIPs in every way possible throughout the race days and make the visitors' stay in the Kingdom as comfortable, enjoyable and exceptionally memorable,"

concludes Barranger.
