The event will be held from the 12th to 14th of June 2006 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) under the patronage of H.E Dr. Hassan Abulla Fahkro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Kingdom of Bahrain.
Since its debut in the UK in 2001, Asia Expo has become a key annual trade event, purposely timed to coincide with many other internationally renowned trade events in Europe. Being one of the largest Asian shows in the world, the exhibition has brought about tremendous business opportunities for both Asian suppliers and international buyers.
The success of the 6-year-old event is phenomenal. To reflect its world-class caliber and international recognition, Asia Expo has been officially endorsed since October 2003 as an 'UFI - Approved Event' by the UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
The essence of this international expo will highlight Bahrain as a trading and distributing hub for manufacturers and suppliers from all Asian countries for consumer electronics and appliances, house hold goods, gifts, toys, jewelry and other related consumer products. Trade visitors targeted for this event are distributors, importers, sales agents and whole sellers from the Middle East, North and East Africa, Central and West Asia.
Asia Expo Bahrain 2006 will be a one-stop-shop for businesses and consumers alike. This event will have supporting programs of seminars as well as product promotions. Issues that will be widely discussed will include: Customs procedures and regulations, free trade infrastructure and a chance for foreign investors to use Bahrain as a communication hub and a business center to exchange knowledge and know-how on why Bahrain will be a profitable venue for trade and business opportunities.
Bahrain provides a supportive business environment for private sectors enterprises, characterized by its minimal bureaucracy. Central to Bahrain's role as a commercial hub is the fact that the government allows 100 per cent foreign ownership of companies, a policy unique to the region.
This absence of restriction and trade controls on private enterprises and freedom of exchange control on the repatriation of capital, profits and dividends are also part of a policy geared to attracting foreign participation as it has done with previous and upcoming business, investments, and trade shows.
