Holiday Television launches the first travel-shopping program in Arabic

Arabic viewers are given the chance to preview destinations and hotels before booking at attractive conditions.

Gulf travellers spend yearly 19.2 billion USD (2003) in holidays abroad. To tap this fast growing market, Holiday Television has launched a travel-shopping program presenting destinations and holiday packages to be booked through its call centre.

Brigitte Schreiber, Holiday Television's producer says: "We are the first one with a travel-shopping program in the Middle East, where TV plays an important role in the decision-making. We broadcast daily on Citruss TV."

Cruises, Malaysia, Egypt, Indonesia, and India are among the favourite destinations of the Gulf travellers. "These countries are also our main partners for the TV show," says Schreiber. "But Australia in definitely trendy and long stays in Europe are also selling well."

In cooperation with airlines, hotels, wholesalers and national tourist offices, Holiday Television offers an excellent platform to reach the wealthy Gulf customer at affordable cost. It bundles exclusive and very attractive packages for the customers. These are mainly from the Gulf, but, surprisingly, they are also bookings from countries as far as Algeria.
