Citrix Password Manager growth skyrockets with more than 100 percent increase in customer deployments
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 11 - 2006 at 14:31
- PRESS RELEASE
Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, today announced that Citrix Password Manager™ has generated a more than 100 percent increase in customer deployments in 2005 compared to deployments in 2004.
According to research firm IDC, the market for identity and access management (IAM) products will grow to almost $4 billion by 20091. Furthermore, in a recent research report the Burton Group observes that ESSO technologies play a key role in identity management and access security deployments.
"Organizations need to control access to their business applications, and be able to demonstrate that only authorized users can access sensitive or private information and systems," said Phil Schacter, analyst, Burton Group. "ESSO products such as Citrix Password Manager can perform the role of gatekeeper to internal applications and also provide a focal point for generating audit logs of both successful and failed access attempts. ESSO products complement traditional identity and access management systems by supporting transparent integration with a wide range of existing applications, and facilitate a gradual deployment of stronger identity authentication systems and credentials without requiring changes to business applications. ESSO products also can be used to improve security by reducing the risk aggregation that occurs when a single password is synchronized or shared across many business systems."
When Password Manager is purchased with the Citrix Access Suite™, which also includes Citrix Presentation Server™ and the Citrix Access Gateway™, customers have the most complete solution available for secure, on-demand access to any business information resource - from anywhere, with any device, over any network. The Access Suite unifies the key access points, capabilities and technologies in a single solution that eliminates the disadvantages of using individual access products from different vendors: fragmented management, performance degradation, security gaps, incomplete visibility, vendor support issues, training issues for the IT team, and sizeable custom-integration costs. Password Manager is also the ideal ESSO solution for organizations running Presentation Server, achieving an unparalleled level of integration that other ESSO solutions cannot match.
"With the rapid advancement of network infrastructure, it has become essential for IT security to keep pace with a growing number of varied threats. However, while people tend to focus on external threats to their systems and data, there is also an inherent internal necessity for secure access to critical information," said Antoine Aguado, Regional Manager, Citrix Systems Middle East "Citrix's suite of access products continue to meet the security expectations of the region's growing IT infrastructure. With Citrix Password Manager, we offer a simple Single Sign-On solution to Applications, and also help make Middle Eastern organizations compliant to international standards."
Recently, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) also named Citrix Access Essentials™ and Citrix Password Manager™ as finalists in the 21st Annual CODiE Awards. The CODiE Awards has long been recognized as one of the most prestigious and competitive recognition programs, and employs rigorous judging standards, including journalist and peer review, to choose a handful of finalists from each category. Password Manager is a finalist for Best Enterprise Security Solution and Access Essentials is a finalist for Best Mobile Solution.
Citrix Password Manager is the most secure, efficient and easy-to-deploy enterprise single sign-on solution for accessing password-protected Windows®, Web, and host-based applications. Users authenticate once with a single password, and Password Manager automatically does the rest: logs onto password-protected enterprise resources, enforces password policies, monitors password-related events, and automates end-user tasks - even password changes. Password Manager delivers the best access experience for everyone: improved password security and regulatory compliance for the business, single sign-on access for users, and lower support costs for IT.
