IRU World Congress to bring in new-age road transport infrastructure to the region

The 30th Session of the IRU World Congress 'Road Transport the Vital Link to Progress' will help Dubai to forge new links with the global road transport industry in an effort to bring the best of road transport infrastructure and facilities to the region.
The discussion and workshops will be held in 30 sessions and will focus on the role of road transport in providing mobility as a vital link to economic progress. It will also focus on the growth in trade and tourism in linking logistics chains, reducing emissions and in helping under-developed and crises-affected region.
Mr. Salem Al Zaabi, Assistant Under-Secretary, Land and Marine Affairs and Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the conference headed a meeting held in Dubai recently to discuss and review the latest arrangements. The meeting helped the organizing members in identifying the 'finishing touches' required to make the event - being held for the first time in the region - a resounding success.
The IRU World Congress will bring together 1,500 delegates from 70 countries.
Mr. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) - Dubai Convention Bureau Director and Chairman of the Public Relations and Media of the conference said that the organizing committee was doing its very best to facilitate and participation of the delegates.
He said that preparations were currently underway to distribute the requisite the publications and brochures to the delegates. Efforts were also being made to garner local and international coverage for the event.
A press conference will be held at on the second day of the IRU at the venue of the Congress to brief the local and international media, Mr. Al Ketbi added.
