Three new Toshiba notebook PCs hit UAE market

The new models - Tecra® A7, Tecra® M5 and Portégé® M400 - feature Intel's first Core™ Duo processor chip, enabling businesses to enhance security, expand connectivity, improve manageability and battery-life.

'These new products offer today's business user a full portfolio of choice. Each model was innovatively designed with a particular functionality in mind in order to suite different business requirements,' said Ahmed Khalil, general manager, Toshiba Computer Systems Division, Middle East and Africa. 'All three notebooks will be available in the UAE in the course of next month (April).'

Tecra® A7

The Tecra® A7 features a professional, stylish design that houses Toshiba EasyGuard Technology, the latest Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology and the versatility of a 15.4' wide-screen display as a mobile desktop replacement for professionals. Powered with the latest Intel® Core™ Duo processor and ATI's Mobility™ Radeon graphics performance, mobile professionals benefit from crystal-clear fluid video, multimedia and business applications. The Tecra® A7 also supports up to 4GB* of DDR2 533MHz Dual Channel memory technology as well as a Serial ATA interface enabling users to benefit from greater speed and easier configuration. Serial ATA, the new hard disk interface, offers a transfer rate of up to 150 Mbps compared to Parallel ATA drives with transfer rates of up to 100 Mbps. Elegant rounded curves encase and protect the critical components such as the Toshiba TruBrite® 15.4' wide-screen display, and Toshiba's Spill-resistant keyboard provides users with ample time to save their work and shut down the system in case of accidental spill.

The Tecra® A7 will be available in the GCC countries from late April 2006 .

Tecra® M5

The Tecra® M5 integrates a comprehensive Toshiba EasyGuard feature set with the most advanced Intel® Centrino® Duo mobile technology architecture in a thin'n'light platform that effortlessly balances system performance, durability, security and stability for mobile professionals. Offering an impressive six hours of battery life, the Tecra® M5 delivers an extended and dependable mobile computing experience demanded by today's mobile professionals. Incorporating the Intel® Core™ Duo processor technology, the Tecra® M5 enables increasing performance and improved wireless interoperability for A/B/G networks. Enjoy crystal-clear, fluid video and multimedia performance on the crisp 14.1' display with NVIDIA's GeForce Go™ 7300 graphics chipset. The Trusted Platform Module (TPM v1.2) embedded security chip offers an additional level of security by protecting access to confidential and sensitive company information. The classic chassis design of the Tecra® M5 also integrates the Toshiba Shock Absorbing Design protecting critical components against potential damage resulting from accidental drops. Together with Toshiba's HDD Protection technology with 3D accelerometer, the Tecra® M5 better safeguards against the daily wear and tear of this mobile notebook.

The Tecra® M5 will be available in the GCC countries from late April 2006.

Portégé® M400

The Portégé® M400 intelligently fuses the natural productivity of a powerful Tablet PC with a comprehensive Toshiba EasyGuard technology feature set built upon the most advanced Intel® Centrino® Duo Mobile Technology architecture to deliver performance beyond expectations for highly-mobile professionals. Toshiba's all-in-one convertible offers a Toshiba TruBrite™ 12.1' high brightness display, high-performance Serial ATA hard disk drive, up to 4GB* of DDR 2 533MHz Dual Channel memory and an ultra SlimBay support for DVD-SuperMulti Drive or 2nd HDD with Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) 1 support to cover nearly every business need. The Portégé® M400 also comes equipped with Toshiba EasyGuard security features including enhancements such as Toshiba Fingerprint Reader, and Trusted Platform Module (TPM v1.2); an embedded security chip for additional security which protects access to confidential and sensitive company information.
