The honour, which was made on behalf of DED by the Dubai Quality Group (DQG), was received by Tejari CEO Omar Hijazi following an intense period of growth for the online marketplace, which will see its membership grow from more than 4,000 traders to 50,000+ following the integration between Tejari and the DED.
Dubai Quality Awards annual program, which honours companies if they are assessed to have met and surpassed international business standards in a variety of fields, has the primary aim of raising the performance level of the UAE's business environment.
"Tejari is extremely honoured to be recognised for initiating and maintaining the region's most influential eCommerce service, which enables thousands of organizations in the UAE to bring their businesses online to make the ideal match in terms of supplier or buyer partnerships,"
commented Tejari CEO Omar Hijazi.
"By enabling buyers and sellers to transact and share information about goods and services via a secure Internet environment, Tejari has become an indispensable marketing and sales tool for our trading partners. We are currently witnessing Tejari's most vital period of growth in our six-year history," Hijazi added.
A number of Tejari initiatives launched in the last year caught the attention of the Dubai Quality Award, including the online marketplace's continued push for regional and international expansion, the range of new services that Tejari is developing for its community, and Tejari's partnerships with organizations like the Dubai Multi Commodities Center to enable more industry-specific solutions for trading partners.
