The career fair offered companies from a variety of fields to cater for the many programs and specializations that AUD provides its students.

Commenting on the significance of the event, Dr. Lance De Masi, AUD President, said: "It is core to the attainment of AUD's mission to seek an understanding of the needs of business, and for the commercial community to also benefit by discovering what AUD is up to.

Without this mutual understanding, interdependence & reciprocal influence, the AUD would fail to progress towards its objective of delivering a skill-driven, career-focused curriculum, and the businesses would risk the opportunity loss by failing to explore an untapped source of locally-generated human resource."

The career fair was successful in attracting many prominent organizations, both multinationals and local ones, to participate at the career fair. Examples of such organizations include AIESEC, Bayt.com, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Damac, Deloitte, Dubai Properties, Dubai TV, Emirates Airlines, Emirates Bank, General Electric, Halcrow, HSBC, Microsoft, Oracle, Philips, Schlumberger, Shuaa Capital, Starcom Worldwide & Unilever.

"We strongly believe in talent development, and that starts right here at the top regional universities such as the American University in Dubai," said Mr. Assaf Al-Quraishi, Gulf Business Unit HR Head of Unilever.

The career fair also encouraged many students from all academic levels, especially seniors, to attend and distribute their CVs at their targeted companies specializing in their fields of interest.

"The Career Fair is more than students getting jobs; it's another step forward in bringing the AUD to the professional public and the professional public into the university," concluded Dr. De Masi.
