Dubai International Airport pulls all forces together towards satisfying Special-needs passengers

The Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai has recently set a dedicated cross- functional team to work on enhancing the airport services for passengers with special needs.

"(Reaya Team), which means (Cares), consists of DCA staffs who have dedicated themselves toward providing better services to a special category of our customers. They work together to put different strategies and recommendations to the airport authority, in order to ensure continuous enhancement of the services provided at DIA for special-needs passengers. "Said Mr. Jamal Al Hai, Chairman of DCA Executive Board and Director Strategy and Management Excellence the team sponsor.

Dubai International Airport which recently won the ACI award for best airport in the Middle East and Africa, is well knows of its standard for customer service. This new initiative will definitely broaden the level of the service provided to cover more categories of customers. In alignment with strategy of the government of Dubai this team will work to make Dubai the preferred destination for all kind of passengers.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) recent statistics, there are around 750 million people with special needs in the world, which of 30 million are Arabs.

The team has recently visited the Rashid Pediatrics Therapy Centre in Dubai in order to increase the awareness of the members about the latest developments of the equipments for this category.
