Sharjah Islamic Bank addresses the business community 'Operational Excellence is no longer an option'

After the remarkable success of last years launch of the pioneering Operational Excellence training program (OPEX) in Sharjah Islamic Bank, Dr. Farrukh Kidwai, Vice President of Quality & Business Process Engineering at SIB, shares his knowledge in a seminar attended by several senior level executives from different industries across the UAE.

The seminar covered the different aspects of the Operational Excellence Model which focuses on delivering a high rate of continuous improvement in all business processes. OPEX has become the latest trend in customer satisfaction and industrial engineering.

The speaker, Dr. Farrukh Kidwai is a highly experienced and successful lecturer whose qualifications include a Ph.D in Industrial Engineering at Washington International University and an MS in Industrial Engineering Management at Arizona State University. He is also author of the OPEX Model and is a regular guest professor at the University of Delaware, USA.

"The Operational Excellence (OPEX) Model is a collection of principles that when applied collectively and systematically to a business will reduce waste and produce business results such as reduced time, improved quality and customer satisfaction," commented Dr. Farrukh Kidwai.

Sharjah Islamic Bank's CEO Mr Hussain Al Qemzi delivered the opening speech saying: 'Sharjah Islamic Bank is focused on enhancing business processes and decreasing the effect of inefficiencies in business practices which evolve over time. Our organization is focused on both teaching and implementing tools that will help to identify areas that can be improved, along with the principles and methodologies to improve them. The goal of the program is to make SIB the bank of choice for customers.'
