The organisation is using the show, taking place at Dubai International Marine Club, from 14th - 18th March, to highlight its vision for the future, which includes 40,000 berths across its portfolio of waterfront developments.

Ali Bin Thalith, General Manager, Nakheel Marinas stated:

'Nakheel's landmark developments are transforming the shape of the Dubai coastline, creating 1,500 kilometres of beachfront. The three Palm islands, The World and Dubai Waterfront create outstanding water leisure opportunities which we plan to take full advantage of. In the coming years, Nakheel Marinas will create a number of luxury marinas which will exceed the highest standards or quality and functionality and set the standard in the region. It is our vision to transform Dubai into the world's foremost boating destination.'

The first planned marinas are located on The Palm Jumeirah, with a marina on each side of the trunk and two marinas at the top of the trunk. Providing approximately 1550 berths between them, these four marinas will include a number of high-end facilities including club houses, a yacht club and capitaineries.

Two marinas are also under construction on Dubai Creek; much needed facilities that will provide berthing space for the hundreds of boats that currently moor in an uncontrolled fashion on the shores of the Creek.

In December 2005, Nakheel announced a partnership with Island Global Yachting, a subsidiary of Island Capital Group. Nakheel Marinas and IGY will in partnership provide comprehensive design, development and management services to all planned Nakheel marina properties and developments. Together, the two organisations will provide world-class service to the boating world.

Nakheel is Platinum Sponsor of the Show, which draws marine operators, boat owners and developers from across the Middle East, and further afield. The organisation's presence at the show will feature Nakheel Marinas and Island Global Yachting. James Wilson, CEO, Nakheel Hotels and Resorts, will deliver the key note speech at the 'Gulf Boating Conference' which runs alongside the show, focusing on The Palm Jumeirah and the marinas planned on the island.

Ali Bin Thalith continued: 'Each marina will be designed to be the on water equivalent of a 5-Star hotel, with an exclusive Ambassador service providing concierge-level service to owners of all berthed boats. The waters of the Arabian Gulf are some of the most beautiful in the world - our marinas will enhance and augment the wonderful natural environment and cater for the ever growing demand of the maritime industry in the region.'
