'We are keenly looking at recruiting fresh engineering graduates from an established and renowned institution like the AUS. Last year, we were glad to enlist seven engineers through our participation at the exhibition. This year our target is 40 high caliber engineering graduates and other specialists in different areas,' said Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Owais, Head of National Programmes & Development.
'The participation in such exhibitions serves two purposes. While DUBAL will be able to get the cream de la cream of the available talent, the company also finds this an opportune moment to create an awareness about its various operations among the young national graduates,'
remarked Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Owais.
Once recruited, these graduates will undergo extensive training in their various areas of specialty to ensure they do have a durable career with DUBAL. According to DUBAL's records, a study conducted in 2001 found that the average length of service at DUBAL even for expatriate employees was 11.9 years.
In order to make this participation more effective, the DUBAL stall at the exhibition will be manned with current employees whose Alma Mater has been the AUS. This factor is an added advantage as those former students of AUS will be in a better position to explain would-be employees how rewarding their own experience has been at DUBAL.
DUBAL's priority would be graduates from the faculty of chemical engineering while those from other faculties including chemical and civil engineering will also be considered. This will vary as per the current requirements at DUBAL which has already embarked on a massive expansion programme.
'We are sure fresh graduates will find the information on DUBAL available at the exhibition stall quite appealing for a future career. Staff turnover has always been low at DUBAL, indicating the management's initiatives and employees' commitment to stay and work together at the company for a very long period,' added Mr. Mohamed Ali Al Owais.
