Originally from South Africa and already the fastest growing extreme sport in the world, Zapcat's tag line 'More Fun Than A Human Deserves!' seems appropriate.

Developed from life saving surf rescue craft, Zapcats are designed to cope with a huge variety of sea conditions from flat calm lakes to large breaking surf. The unique fully inflatable catamaran tunnel hull design means the Zapcat is incredibly stable when afloat, whether stationary or at speed. This quality gives the CE approved Zapcat a capacity of five persons, all of whom when aboard are given an amazing feeling of security, unlike mono hull inflatables.

Alan Linnitt, Director, Zapcat UAE, commented:

'Zapcat is already hugely popular in the UK and the rest of Europe and Dubai is an ideal location for us to introduce the Zapcat. The relatively calm waters in the Arabian Gulf make ideal conditions for getting to grips with the fun and versatile boat and the all-round weather is a great bonus.'

He added: 'The Dubai Boat Show is proving to be a great forum in which to meet potential customers and to increase awareness about the product. We urge people to give the Zapcat a go, it is fantastic, fun and due to the safety precautions and training that all crews must undertake, is also a safe water sports activity for all the family.'

Deflating or inflating a Zapcat is a simple procedure that only takes 30-40 minutes including the positioning of the engine. You are then ready to go afloat. The clear, well thought out, tough design is as versatile as it is affordable. There are currently three types of Zapcat in the market and all are available for Middle East customers, whether for leisure or for racing.

The Zapcat can be seen at the Dubai International Boat Show until Saturday 18th March.

The versatility of these feisty little powerboats is one of the many reasons for their success within the UK and European watersports scene. Zapcats are suitable as cruising vessels, for skiing, paragliding and fishing. Accessible to a very large number of individuals due to the boats' affordability, simplicity to maintain and transport, the captivating sport of Zapcat racing attracts many sportsmen and women from the arenas of RIB racing, motorcycling, mountain-biking, jet-skiing and even go-karting.

• A power to weight ratio of 340bhp per tonne puts Zapcat firmly in super car territory.

• Carry's up to 5 individuals for recreational use or a payload of 850kg.
