ProCurve Networking by HP consolidates number-two position in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region while securing highest ever market share
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 18 - 2006 at 16:03
- PRESS RELEASE
ProCurve Networking by HP today announced its strongest ever market share figures in the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, based on fourth quarter, 2005 figures recently released by market research and analyst firm, International Data Corp. (IDC).
In terms of managed ports in the EMEA region over Q4 2005, ProCurve increased its total market share by 1.2 percent while market competitor Cisco Systems, Inc. dropped 2.0 percent over the same period. Equally significant is the quarterly comparison between Q4 2005 and Q4 2004: over this period while the EMEA market grew at 11 percent in terms of managed ports, ProCurve outperformed the market growing at a rate of 17 percent in this segment.
"To be announcing our highest ever EMEA market share is a significant landmark for ProCurve Networking," said Wenceslao Lada, EMEA vice president and general manager, ProCurve Networking by HP. "Over the past few years we have made tremendous progress in the market to become the region's clear number-two vendor."
Lada added: "These strong results prove that ProCurve is taking market share from Cisco and our other competitors, despite a slowing EMEA market. Our continuing growth is a result of the strong relationship we have with the channel, and in how we work with our resellers to sell quality networking products and tailored solutions in both the SMB space and the enterprise market, offering customers a better return on investment than our competitors are able to offer".
