HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Chairman, Sharjah Petroleum Council, inaugurated the fair. Sheikh Sultan toured the venue and was guided through the career opportunities offered by Etisalat. His Highness praised the efforts of Etisalat in creating job opportunities for all sections of society, and thanked the corporation for its participation in the fair.
Etisalat, through its stand at the fair, showcased a number of job opportunities open to university students and job seekers. Computers with internet connection were installed at the stand offering access to the website www.etisalat-careers.ae where online forms are available for jobs at Etisalat.
Ali Mohammed Al Sharid, General Manager, Etisalat West Coast Region said:
'The Corporation realizes the importance of employing university and college graduates, and they are considered to be the key element of change management, staying up-to-date with the latest in technologies and knowledge. It is important to give human resources attention to help their development and empower them with knowledge to achieve high levels of performance.'
He added: 'Etisalat has launched a new and bold strategy to achieve its ambitious goals. Attracting qualified workforce is a reflection on this strategy, which helps the Corporation compete in an open market. Etisalat is also studying the possibility of sponsoring such events in the future.'
Etisalat has recently organized and sponsored a number of activities aiming to develop its human resources, and to attract new highly-qualified manpower. The fifth Middle East HR Conference that was organized recently by Etisalat Academy is one of them, as is the sponsorship of the Fifth Training and Employment Week, organized by UAE University in Al Ain on the 2nd and 4th of April 2006.
