'In order to become strong global players, companies must view technology investments not only as efficiency plays but as strategic enablers,' said Jordan. 'New technologies, global data networks and off-shoring have leveled the world's playing field. Enterprises that use information technology to efficiently and seamlessly connect with their suppliers, retailers and customers will be the ones that thrive in the future.'

While visiting Abu Dhabi, Jordan also held a series of high level meetings with government and business leaders to discuss the development of the IT services sector in the country.

Jordan said the UAE's leadership's progressive initiatives in economic development and education are making the country a regional leader in technology innovation. He noted these policies helped attract EDS to invest in the country.

EDS gained a presence in Abu Dhabi in February 2005 through the establishment of Injazat Data Systems, the Mubadala-EDS joint venture that is quickly becoming a regional leader in the IT and business process outsourcing services market. Injazat recently signed an IT outsourcing contract worth over $110 million with the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority.

'Mike Jordan's visit to the UAE underscores EDS' commitment to provide world class technology services solutions to organizations in the GCC,'

said Ibrahim Lari, CEO of Injazat Data Systems.
