Bridgestone participates in road safety initiative

Bridgestone received great response at the "Tyre Safety check-up" campaign that was held at the PDO on 8th March 2006.
A Bridgestone counter, displayed with various Bridgestone tyres was set up and trained staff and technicians were present round the clock. Balancing, alignment and the condition of the tyres were checked on the spot and advice was given on various aspects of road safety.
Bridgestone staff distributed a Tyre maintenance booklet "SAFE GRIP", that was given to all customers who made a check on their tyre from the Bridgestone counter. Free gifts were given to all and special offers were given to customers who bought tyres from the Bausher TYRE CARE PLUS outlet.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr Oommen John, Sales Manger, Bridgestone Tyres said, " As the world's leading tyre manufacturer, we are keenly aware of our responsibility to do everything possible to maximize safety. That includes working to acquaint customers with the basics of tyre safety and to sensitize them to the importance of routine tyre inspections. This campaign is an initiative to enlist customers in the pursuit of tyre safety."
The campaign rounded up with a special technical presentation from Bridgestone on Tyre Maintenance and Safety for the PDO employees.
Bridgestone Corporation, established in 1931, is the world's largest manufacturer of tyres and other rubber products. Tyres account for 80 percent of Bridgestone Group sales worldwide.
