Speaking at a forum held recently in Jordan, Dr Hassan Al Samarai, Dean of the Training and Continuous Education Center at Ajman University of Science and Technology, said, "On-job training gives the students and graduates the confidence they need to compete in the job market."

"Private and government UAE establishments are all geared up and ready to encourage students to train in various departments. The students will then be familiar with the kinds of challenges and difficulties they may face in the workplace."

The training process is a strategic move that every other education institution in the Arab world should be prepared to organize for its students. The market will not accept people with fewer qualification and skills.

Dr Samarai added, "It is essential for training coordinators to examine the benefits that students get from training sessions. The training coordinator and the academic coordinator usually team up to evaluate and make recommendations for further development."
