Fairouz in concert for Dubai Autism Centre

"The greatest vocalist and stage artist" Fairouz will hold a special concert for the Dubai Autism Centre on March 30, 2006.

The concert will be held at 8:30 in the evening at the auditorium in the American University of Dubai. Fairouz is expected to attract thousands of her fans to the concert and all proceeds generated from the concert will go towards the development of the Dubai Autism Centre.

Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, Vice Chairman, Dubai Autism Centre and Director General, Dubai International Financial Centre Authority thanking Fairouz for her supporting towards the Dubai Autism Centre, said:

"Fairouz is legendary and her support for Dubai Autism Center is welcome. Being a non-profit organisation, the center is solely dependant on funding and donations. Fairouz has the capacity to touch the hearts of millions of her fans and with this concert, we hope to raise not just the funding but also awareness about autism."

"Children with autism are locked in their own silent world where very little can reach. The Dubai Autism Center has been set up to reach out and support them and their families. The Dubai Autism Center was launched in November 2001 on the issuance of a decree by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It is a non-profit organization relying on fund raising and donations. It started as a resource center for parents and professionals, providing essential resources like information, books & videos an autism. It is now a full fledged center catering to the needs of children with autism thus turning a dream into reality.
