The director of the SCTDA, Mr. Mohamed Al Noman, will head the Sharjah delegation to MITT 2006 in what will be there 6th participation at this important international tourism exhibition. To date their involvement at this show's past events and other similar gatherings has greatly benefited Sharjah and has contributed to generating a great profit from the tourism sector by attracting more visitors and improving the economic sector in general in the Emirate.
Speaking on their involvement in the exhibition, Mr. Mohamed Ali Noman said:
'Our participation in the 12th Moscow International Exhibition 'Travel and Tourism / MITT 2006' is a result of the success that the exhibition has garnered since 1994. Reflecting the interest that there is between the Emirate of Sharjah and the Russian tourism market, this exhibition has played an important role in uniting the perspectives of those working in the tourism sector from various different countries.'
'To date, Sharjah is considered as one of the most favorable cities preferred by Russians for tourism, where more than 105,000 Russian tourists have visited the Emirate during 2005.
These statistics also show that Russian tourists took the number one position as the highest group of tourists coming to the Emirate during this time'. He added.
This year, SCTDA intend to showcase extraordinary and eye-catching designs that will display graphics of the city on a space of 80 square meters. Here they will distribute promotional materials featuring the main attractions of Sharjah, in addition to providing accurate news and information about the Emirate of Sharjah in both English and Russian. This is in addition to providing many authentic Arabian heritage activities.
MITT is one of the five largest tourist exhibitions worldwide. This year about 2500 companies from more than 110 countries and regions will participate in the exposition. The total space of the MITT exhibition will be approximately 27,000 sqm. The exhibition is expected to be attended by more than 98,000 visitors.
