IBM brings latest digital media solutions at CABSAT 2006 show

IBM Middle East has addressed recently some of the fundamental challenges of content creation, management and distribution at this year's annual Middle East international cable, satellite, broadcast & communications exhibition, CABSAT 2006 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

This year, IBM showcased some of the industry's broadest range of digital media technologies that grant easy and scalable access to content thus fulfilling the hype of the media industry fast growing.

IBM's local Middle East Broadcast integration partner BrainWaves presented diverse solutions that address different areas pertinent to broadcasting industry such as graphics, filming, and communication. These solutions were Brainstorm News Graphics Suite, Brainstorm Phone 2 TV, Brainstorm real-time on-air graphics, Digital colour grading, and Smoke- Flint on Linux.

Partnering with leaders in the Broadcast Industry, IBM presented Broadcast Asset Management with Ardendo, currently the fastest growing media company in the world. The solution provides digital infrastructure required for the transition of TV stations from analog to digital. It enables collaborative production environment with concurrent access to content throughout the enterprise.

Another innovative solution that was showcased at IBM's stand at CABSAT this year is IPTV and Video on Demand (VoD) solution. Based on IBM's open-standards architecture infrastructure, this solution delivers IP-based Video on Demand and Television, and can combine Voice, Video and Internet capabilities into a Triple Play Solution. It offers customers increase of choice, control and convenience.
