'We are happy to announce the availability of this machine to our shores and we anticipate that its sale here, like that of the new Intel based iMac, will be a success.' said Elias Abou-Rustom, General Manager of Arab Business Machine Ltd. 'As the public in the Middle East become increasingly demanding in the level of performance they expect from a notebook, we feel that the time is perfect for the MacBook Pro to be unleashed.'
The compact device slatted to be four times more powerful than the former PowerBook G4, represents a distinctive alternative in portable computing.
Only 259mm thick and weighing 2.54 kilograms, the features of the new MacBook Pro see it take full advantage of its PCI Express architecture, with a powerful graphics chipset-the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600, with Avivo technology. This mixture allows it to fully exploit MPEG-4 playback that is used with iPod and iTunes videos and takes full advantage of a large 15 inch screen.
Also included in the design is the Apple iSight camera designed to utilize video conferencing activities, an Express Card slot, and the Apple Remote, which is intended to take advantage of the Front Row media software.
'What Apple is delivering to the market is a state-of-the-art piece of technology that can adapt to the needs of any kind of consumer, whether they'd be interested in work or recreation. We believe that this machine is one of the most advanced models available anywhere on the computer market today. When this is coupled with the ease and mobility that this device offers and the price it will come at, then it becomes clear that what we are offering to the public, is truly special.'
Added Abou-Rustom.
