Gargash Enterprises, the world's leading SLR distributor delivers the first McLaren for 2006

Gargash Enterprises were delighted to deliver the first McLaren Mercedes-Benz SLR for 2006 to H.E Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi.

H.E Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the RAK Ports & Customs was delighted to take delivery of the McLaren Mercedes-Benz SLR and said

"I am extremely proud to become a member of an exclusive owners club and wanted to own an SLR as the car is so unique. I am proud to collect this beautiful SLR today and am completely satisfied with the service I have received from Gargash Enterprises."

The 5.5 V8 Supercharged engine in the SLR delivers 626bhp and catapults to 100kph in just 3.6 seconds and 200km/h in just 10. And with a top speed of 321kph this will ensure that the limited number of customers of the SLR will be very happy indeed.

This carbon-fibre road car exploits that material's amazing strength and feathery weight for high performance and safety. The entire body is a composite molding, with beautiful front and rear aluminum subframes bolted and bonded to the tub to mount the engine and undercarriage. Below the tub is a completely flat underbody.

When you flip open the long clamshell hood, it's a surprise to see how little of the exposed interior is filled by the engine. For optimal weight distribution (the percentage, front to rear, is 51/49), the engine protrudes only two or so feet forward of the base of the windshield. Ahead of that is a monstrous snorkel reaching for cool air rushing in around the three-pointed star.

Other neat features visible under the hood are the forged-aluminum double control arms, along with an anti-roll bar mounted above the suspension and torqued by a Formula 1-style rocker assembly.
