E-Vision carries 'World Cup 2006'

Emirates Cable TV and Multimedia (E-Vision), the leading Cable Company in the region, announced today its tie up with the Arab Digital Distribution Network - the largest Pay TV Platform Management company in the Middle East, North Africa & Europe, to carry the '2006 FIFA World Cup' that will take place in Germany from June 9 to July 9, 2006.

Mr. Humaid Rashid Sahoo, Chief Executive Officer - E-Vision, shortly after signing the agreement with one of the leading channel providers in the World assured that E-Vision is definitely living up to the promise of providing all its customers with the best in TV entertainment through just one cable.

Humaid Sahoo, said:

'This deal is an enormous coup for both E-Vision and the Arab Digital Distribution Network. Bringing the World Cup event, for the second time in a row, complements our objective of delivering the most popular sports events and activities to our customers. E-Vision cautiously chooses its offerings in line with customer feedback and requests to guarantee that all its offerings completely comply with its customers' needs.'



He added: 'This initiative is expected to witness great response from our customers. E-Vision has enhanced its distribution channels to cope with the high demand due from all the residents of the UAE.'

This landmark agreement is another testimony of E-Vision's expertise in satisfying its customer needs and requirements and has significantly added to the company's numerous achievements in the field of cable TV entertainment.

Abdul Aziz Yamani, Chief Executive Officer of ADD, said: 'We are proud to cooperate with E-Vision and we hope for this cooperation to last and evolve, for most of our customers in the UAE have recognised the quality of services provided by E-Vision and ADD; thus resulting in our decision to provide the World Cup events on E-Vision's advanced Network. At present, E-Vision offers its viewers the best in TV Entertainment through more than 200 selected channels. It offers the latest events and sports activities such as soccer, basketball, formula one, cricket and many others.

E-Vision was established in April 2000 as the UAE's only cable provider, and is a subsidiary of the Emirates Telecommunication's corporation.

With an initial coverage of 20,000 homes, E-Vision's services currently reach 300,000 homes across five emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain and Ajman, with a solid 500,000 viewers.
