From London to Riyadh, the DTCM effectively showcased 'Brand Dubai' at a series of consumer, trade, travel and tourism shows. The Dubai Property show in London offered insights into Dubai's changing property ownership scenario and the opportunities available for people to own property in the UAE and drew a popular response from more than 2,300 consumer attendees.

The DTCM through its overseas representative offices in the UK & Ireland also participated at the Destinations 2006 London and Holiday World Experience in Dublin. The main objectives were to promote Dubai and its developments and gather data about the attendees for future marketing initiatives.

The highlights of DTCM's participation in the shows included screening of a DVD on Dubai and its tourist attractions at the Dubai Property Show, and a 'Meet the Experts' panel discussion about shopping that was attended by more than 200 people at the Destinations show.

In a bid to attract greater number of UK investors, the DTCM also participated at the West London Business - World Trade Forum and Interroute/Dubai Holdings Launch.

The DTCM Overseas Representative Office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) organised a workshop for 34 travel agencies, and the staff and management of tourism organizations based in Riyadh recently.

Some of the key projects in Dubai that were discussed at the workshop included Ski Dubai and Dubailand. The representatives of the 34 participating travel agencies also evinced interest in knowing about Dubai's latest tourist attractions and in improving the movement of outbound tourists to Dubai.

Saudi Arabia is a very significant source market for Dubai among AGCC countries. The DTCM opened its second representative office in Riyadh last year.
