Abraaj, Sabre $250m JV Indian fund

Dubai-based Abraaj Capital and Indian firm Sabre Capital have formed a 50:50 joint venture company called Sabre Abraj Capital to open a $250m fund that will buy up stakes in Indian companies, both listed and non-listed. The fund will close by the end of 2006 and start investing in 2007. Institutional investors will be sought from the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
