Greenback firms against Euro

The US dollar firmed against other currencies on optimistic comments about the US economy made by Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke, according to Reuters. The greenback moved away from a seven-week low against the Euro, though trading volumes were thinner in Asia with Tokyo closed for the spring equinox.
