American Express Middle East appoints new Regional Director for Egypt and North Africa

American Express Middle East (AEME) has appointed Mr. Mazin A. Khoury as the new Regional Director for Egypt and North Africa.

Khoury brings with him a wealth of knowledge gained over his 17 years career in the financial and lending industry in the Middle East.

Khoury rejoins AEME after 5 successful years as Chief Executive Officer of Amex (Saudi Arabia) Limited (ASAL), AEME's sister company; where he was responsible for establishing and managing a new Card and Merchant business for American Express in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Previously, Khoury held various leadership positions in AEME including Marketing, Business Planning, Loyalty, Sales and Country Management.

Khoury will be based in Cairo and shall be responsible for the development and general management of the American Express Card and Merchant business in Egypt and North African Countries. This includes driving the growth of the American Express card market share in Egypt; developing and launching new, innovative and locally relevant card Products; and growing the merchant business across all inbound destination markets in North Africa, by ensuring the American Express Card is widely welcomed at all leading establishments, whilst utilizing state of the art technologies and telecommunications systems.
