Mr. Sharif Abukhadra, President of IAA Jordan who received the award on behalf of the Association said,
"This award comes as clear testimony of IAA Jordan's hard work and commitment towards the development of the marketing and communications industry, and the promotion of the industry's role in the country's economic development. It also places Jordan on the map of the advertising and marketing communications industry."
For his part, Joseph Ghossoub, World President and Chairman of IAA, said, "Jordan's Chapter has demonstrated relentless dedication in developing and growing the Jordan office. Furthermore, the Jordanian advertising industry stands on the verge of major achievements as this small country's contribution to the regional industry is likely to increase with time and gain importance."
All IAA Chapters competing for the award were evaluated against specific criteria, which included a strategic vision as well as clear business planning for 2004/05. Also evaluated were Chapters' organization and management, memberships, conferences and events, campaigns to promote the value of advertising, advocacy activities, education and professional development as well as public awareness.
IAA Jordan came out well ahead with leading examples of its accomplishments achieved in 2004/05. Listed amongst its major achievements was the success of its first annual advertising and marketing communications conference "Outside the Box", held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
Following a solid business plan and clear objectives, the year 2004/05 proved to be additionally successful with the Association creating its own independent office, while developing strategic programs to introduce new members to the internationally recognized industry body. In the last year IAA Jordan has grown its membership to over 70 members with numbers steadily rising.
IAA Jordan also is working towards introducing universities in Jordan to the IAA Accreditation Program, an initiative that seeks to drive quality and standards of teaching of core marketing communications subjects to an internationally recognized level.
Abukhadra concluded that the business plan set by the IAA is continuously evolving as the Association raises funds to hire more staff and finance more projects in the future, adding that the current plan reflects the activities that IAA Jordan will work on until 2008.
