Global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has taken home entertainment to the next level, by introducing the region's first DVD recorder home cinema range.
With a total output of 700 watts, the speakers produce incredible surround sound without static or interference. The DVD recorder supports Multi DVD recording, MP3 encoding and Divx playback. The unit is also equipped with a built-in Dolby Digital/ DTS/Dolby Prologic II decoder and an X-class fully digital amplifier.
"LG's is the only manufacturer to introduce the DVD recorder home theatre system in the region," said C.H Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE. "With the increasing acceptance of DVD media, home theatres have now become an integral part of the consumer home entertainment scenario. In 2006 customising home entertainment packages according to individual tastes, lifestyles, budgets and room layouts will take priority. With this launch, LG aims to address this growing segment of consumers."
The sleek home cinema systems are available in black and white and designs that harmoniously blend with LG's plasma TVs. Other features include Dual Progressive Scan (DPS), Digital Visual Interface (DVi), and an 8-in-2 memory slot.
In 2005, LG sold audio and video products worth US$94 million and US$72 million respectively in the Middle East. By focusing on strategic links between home audio-video, car infotainment and mobile audio-video, LG Electronics aims to rank among the top three global players in the digital display and media segment by 2007.
Lee added: "Consumers want flexibility and choice in digital entertainment. In recent years, easy accessibility and decreasing prices of DVD software, has made this technology an affordable option for everyone. We see an immense growth for home cinema systems and hi-tech audio and video products, particularly among the youth in the region."
