Dubai School of Government to provide Leadership Development Programme for Dubai International Customs

The Dubai School of Government (DSG) today announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Customs International (DCI) to develop a Leadership Development Programme for DCI officials.

The agreement was signed by Nabil Ali Alyousuf, Executive President of the Dubai School of Government and Hamad Al Mazroui, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Customs International.

Co-operation between the Dubai School of Government & the Dubai Customs International (DCI) will include designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a core leadership development program for the DCI to ensure continuous development for its senior management team.

'The Leadership Development Programme is part of the DSG's efforts to promote a culture of support and development for government leaders in Dubai,' said Nabil Ali Al Yousuf, Executive President, Dubai School of Government.

'Through various new approaches, we will be looking to instill leadership skills among DCI officials that lead to greater aspiration and achievement. At the same time, we will closely follow the programme's delivery to make sure that it is providing the aspired benefits,' he added.

'Leadership creates the difference between success and failure in any government operation and in the customs sector, it plays a particularly critical role,' said Mr. Hamad Al Mazroui, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Customs International. 'We are seeking to develop a cutting-edge training programme that can build the leadership skills of our officials. The Dubai School of Government will help us identify our specific needs and translate them into training and development that offers practical value,' he added.

The training program will focus on three main areas: Personal Leadership Skills, Core management and business acumen, and Technical / subject matter knowledge (customs management).

The program will consist of a carefully planned series of learning events at regular intervals to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills required for enhanced personal and organizational performance.

Structured to complement existing work commitments, the programme will also help participants to practically benefit from what they learn. It will assist them to directly utilise the knowledge that they've gained into immediate implementation.

All the learning modules will be supplied and led by world renowned educational institutes and individuals from within Dubai School of Government associates, partners and visiting faculty which covers senior academics and practitioners.
