The event will be the largest-ever launch exhibition ever held at DICEC, taking up a full four halls, for over 250 exhibitors.
Exhibitors will be keen to use their participation in the event to capitalize on the Gulf's rapidly-growing business and residential market and the resulting opportunities for flooring companies. Experts estimate that between now and 2010 investment in property development in the UAE alone will amount to approx. USD $50 billion, resulting in huge demand for floor coverings.
In attracting such a major industry event to Dubai, DICEC has underlined the strength of its brand within the international market, and reinforced its commitment to hosting world-class exhibitions across a broad range of industries.
Dubai now joins international trade centres like Shanghai, China, and Hanover, Germany, in hosting this world trade fair for carpets and floor coverings.
'We are delighted to be able to welcome such an internationally recognised and specialised-industry event to Dubai,' said DWTC Director General Helal Saeed Al Marri.
'DOMOTEX - Middle East 2006 adds to a growing list of single sector shows hosted at the DICEC, which we feel can only be a reflection of the confidence many core industries have in the business opportunities available within Dubai. The world-class facilities which DICEC offers, as a key MICE venue, is attracting an increasing selection of exhibitions to the Middle East,' added Al Marri.
DOMOTEX first opened in 1989 in Hanover, Germany, with the industry treated to an important event that, for the first time ever, saw manufacturers of industrially produced floor coverings exhibiting alongside makers of hand-woven and hand-knotted carpets and rugs. For the carpet and floor coverings industry this marked the transition to a completely autonomous and specialised showcase.
'We are delighted to be bringing the show to Dubai as it is part of DOMOTEX's strategy to focus on emerging markets and be active in them. Dubai offers a world-class destination and fantastic facilities and we are very confident that our exhibitors will generate significant business benefit from participating in the event here,' says Angela Schaschen, co-organiser, Messe Middle East, which is organising the exhibition.
A hallmark feature of DOMOTEX has always been its extraordinary international appeal, with large foreign delegations coming from India, Belgium, Turkey and the Netherlands for the Hanover show. Organisers hope that this international appeal can be translated into DOMOTEX - Middle East, drawing crowds from around the world.
DOMOTEX - Middle East will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition & Conference Centre from 28th - 30th May, 2006.
