The 2nd Intelligent Building Middle East 2006 will be jointly organised by Germany's Nürnberg Global Fairs (NGF), the Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BCEB) and the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) under the patronage of H.E. Fahmi bin Ali Al-Jowder, Minister of Works and Housing of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Intelligent building in the Middle East primarily means the design of sustainable and energy-efficient buildings. Many countries from the Region like, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Dubai and Qatar are currently investing in impressive large-scale building projects. Efficient building concepts and integrated solutions are required from the flourishing building industry.
The aim of the exhibition and conference is to present building solutions, technologies and components to maximize comfort for building operators and users and minimize the consumption of fossil energies, especially under hot climatic conditions. The event is targeted to all experts involved in the planning and construction process: from consultants and architects, planners and construction companies, to public and private property owners and facility managers.
IBME is distinctly designed for the flourishing construction market of the Middle East and it clearly stands out from the horizontally oriented exhibitions in region, which primarily focuses on a variety of building material and related goods. Bearing in mind the extreme climatic conditions of the region, the organisers have taken a vertical approach towards the innumerable building and large scale projects in the region in an effort to establish Intelligent Building Middle East as one of the leading annual events in the Region in the coming years.
Even though at present, there is a substantial supply of low-cost fossil fuels in the Middle East, reserves are anticipated to be depleted in the foreseeable future. Accordingly, the planners, architects and suppliers are emphasising their focus towards unlimited potential on energy saving and efficient building management.
The first Intelligent Building Middle East which was held from 5th to 7th of December 2005 saw more than 2,800 trade visitors and conference participants attending the event with 117 exhibitors from 14 countries, including more than 50 German companies, presented their products on a net display area of 2,500 square metres.
IBME 2005 received an overwhelming support from Germany. One main attraction was the Bavarian Pavilion, representing the State of Bavaria. The latter had been especially set up by the Bavarian state government to promote and boost global trade and cross-boarder investment which are basic prerequisites for economic growth.
The Bavarian Pavilion and the Bavarian exhibiting companies were organised and advised by Bayern International. About 28 leading technological companies presented their products and technology solutions at IBME 2005. The latter had been especially set up by the Bavarian state government to promote and boost global trade and cross-boarder investment which are basic prerequisites for economic growth. This year too we will witness their presence at the event.
The trade show opens November 20th to 22nd , 2006 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) and will be held parallel with Bahrain International Property Exhibition (BIPEX) 2006.
