DM to educate staff on food safety

Dubai Municipality is organizing a special training course on food safety for its food inspectors this week as part of the ongoing internal training programme of the civic body for the year 2006.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Acting Head of Human Resources Development Section in the Personnel Department said the course would be organized from 5pm to 9pm during 25-28 March at Dubai Municipality Staff Club.

He said the participants will be familiarized with the international food safety charters, food classifications according to international specifications, different classifications of hazardous food and specimen taking mechanism.

In order to enhance the performance of customer services staff the Municipality will give special training to them during the week, said Al Zarouni. The course, "Excellence in customer service in public sector," will be conducted from 9am to 2pm on 28 March at the Municipal Council Hall.

He said the course is aimed at enhancing the behavioural skills essential for the employees to deal with the customers in a more effective way and also to offer excellent services to them. It will enable them to undertake the transactions, especially regarding complaints and problems, more fluently.
