IT Operations are the backbones of organizations today. 'Hacking' is an action taken from either inside or outside of an organization aimed at affecting the integrity of that organization's network infrastructure. If successful, it could potentially cease the IT operations of a company, thus completely crippling it or causing thousands of dollars-worth of damage. Several international IT consultancy firms and regional media sources have reported that the rate of hacking incidents is on the rise, especially in the GCC region.
Management, when conducting business planning exercises, usually seeks to deploy top-of-the-range hardware and software within their organizations. However, more often than not they neglect security training for their IT Staff.
'Ethical Hacking & Countermeasures' is a hands-on course that is focused on teaching IT professional on how to think like hackers, which in turn helps IT professionals defend their organization against hackers. The course targets different levels of security expertise from various business sectors, such as security officers, auditors, security professionals, site administrators, and anyone who is concerned with the integrity of a network infrastructure.
Students will be immersed into an interactive environment where they will be shown how to scan, test, crack and secure their own systems. The lab intensive environment will give each student in-depth knowledge and practical experience with current essential security systems. Students will begin by understanding how perimeter defenses work, and then be given an opportunity to scan and attack a network within a contained environment (no real business network will be harmed). Students will then learn how intruders escalate privileges and what steps they can take to secure a system. Students will also learn about Intrusion Detection, Policy Creation, Social Engineering, DDoS Attacks, Buffer Overflows and Virus Creation.
'Ethical Hacking & Countermeasures' will be held at the Mercure Grand Hotel, Seef Area in Bahrain between the 29th and 4th of May 2006 as a six day course inclusive of a comprehensive exam on the last day.
'Innovate IT primarily aims to promote security awareness and practices for IT professionals and their counterparts in the region. In offering this course, we hope to provide the concerned professionals, and consequently their organizations, the necessary knowledge and tools to create secure environments,' explains Ahmed Aldoseri, Chief Consultant & CEO. 'A Certified Ethical Hacker is a skilled professional who knows how to look for the weaknesses and vulnerabilities in network systems in the same manner that a malicious hacker would, and uses that knowledge to assess the security posture of a system and to defend it.'
