GOIC to hold a symposium on GCC Unified Law for Antidumping

Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting conducts an illustrative symposium on the Unified Law for Antidumping, preventions and amendment steps in GCC member states between March 28-29, 2006 in Ajman Kempinski Hotel.
The symposium aims at clarifying the terms of the Unified Law for Antidumping, and to what degree it is consistent with the principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO), with the target of qualifying the participants so as to comprehend the sides relating to Dumping and Antidumping issues, further to explaining the rules and procedures followed to verify this phenomenon As well as settlement of disputes.
On its turn, the symposium agenda focuses on three main themes; first, the main terms of the Unified Law for Antidumping as well as preventions and amendment steps in GCC member states compared to the terms of The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) concerned with applying Article (6) of the subject agreement. The second theme is represented in the rules and procedures relating to defining the Dumping phenomenon and verifying its disadvantages on the national products; while the third theme is the mechanisms of commercial dumping disputes' settlement within the frame of the WTO or outside it, further to browsing some cases where settlement was achieved.
It is worth mentioning that a group of parties will participate in this symposium covering representatives of concerned ministries and establishments in GCC member states including ministries of trade and industry; chambers of trade and commerce; in addition to some institutions and companies from the private sector.
