DCCI's Director General pays visits to Chamber's Branch in Jebel Ali Free Zone and to a Foodstuff factory in Jafza

Mr. Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiwee, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), visited the Chamber's branch in Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) along with Mr. Nizar Sardast, DCCI's General Advisor, and Mr. Saeed Al Harthi, Supervisor of Commercial Services Department at the DCCI's branch in Jafza.

He checked the working process and the types of commercial services the branch is providing to the Chamber's members including the investors in Jafza.

Al Mutaiwee said that the visit to the DCCI's branch in Jafza is scheduled in the line of the Chamber's annual plan which aims at inspecting work at all the DCCI's branches and overcoming obstacles which hinder the offer of the Chamber's services to continue supporting its members, businessmen and investors in all the free zones in Dubai.

"The DCCI is keen over continuing its role in supporting the business community and its members of investors and businessmen with value added services which could help them facilitate their business and develop their activities through the DCCI's headquarters and its related branches," said Al Mutaiwee.

Mr. Saeed Al Harthi, Supervsior of Commercial Services Department at the DCCI's branch in Jafza, stressed the improvement of services provided to the Chamber's members in Jafza, mainly the issue of Certificates of Origin whose numbers surged to 700 certificates per day. He added that the number is expected to double as soon as the DCCI's branch in Jafza moves to its new two-storey premises due to be completed in 2007.

The DCCI's director general, accompanied by Mr. Nizar Sardast, DCCI's General Advisor, Mr. Rashid Mattar, Director of Commercial Services Department in the DCCI, and Mr. Saeed Al Harthi, Supervisor at the DCCI's branch in Jafza, also visited Master Foods Middle East Company in Jafza, in the line of the DCCI's strategy and plan to closely check the activity of companies operating in Jafza.

"Visiting factories and companies registered at the DCCI is scheduled in the annual plan of the DCCI's commercial services department to inspect its activity and support them to help these companies facilitate its business and to make sure that the Chamber is always ready to provide help and consultancy in coordination with other government authorities," Al Mutaiwee noted.

Mr. Khaled Alkaff, GCC Commercial and External Affairs Manager at Master Foods Middle East Company, conducted a presentation in which he talked about the company, its products, sales and the type of services it receives from the DCCI. He pointed out that the company, which produces a wide range of snack foods under the commercial brand names of Mars, Galaxy, Snickers and others, was established in 1993 and became one of the pioneering companies in Jafza and has benefited from the DCCI's services to improve its businesses in the region.

"Master Foods is one of the biggest American private family companies whose total global sales reached US Dollar 17 billion. It has 83 factories in over 65 countries, provides jobs for more than 40,000 employees and produces about 75 food stuff brands that have gained an international reputation due to their quality, relying on the 5 principles that our business is based on: quality, responsibility, maturity, efficiency and freedom," said Mr. Alkaff.

He highlighted the company's effective collaboration with the DCCI which provides the company with all necessary economic researches and continuous support to help upgrade its activity and continue producing high quality products. He added that the company operates two major plants in Dubai and Cairo, the company's Dubai plant covers 30% of the company's total production worldwide, and it is planning to cover around 70% of its gross production in the near future.
