40 million Kuwaiti Dinars to build the new face of shopping centres in Kuwait

Tamdeen Shopping Centre Development Company (Tamdeen SCD), a subsidiary of Tamdeen Real Estate and a company specializing in the development, leasing and management of shopping centres, announced today that Ahmediah Contracting & Trading Company was awarded the 40 Million Kuwaiti Dinar construction contract for the exciting new development in the South Surra area.
The developer, Tamdeen SCD, is looking at creating one of the largest and most exciting retail and leisure destinations in the centre of Kuwait. "The mall will be a modern interpretation of the traditional designs and echo many of the architectural features of the region" said Mr. Marzooq Al Marzooq, Chairman of Tamdeen SCD. "The materials, colours and environmental graphics have all been carefully chosen to deliver the experience of travel through time and space" explained Mr. Al Marzooq.
The design and architecture were inspired by the Arab tradition of navigation by the stars and history of planetary studies and was named "3600 Kuwait" to reflect the unique curvilinear shape of the building and the interior circular concourses.
3600 Kuwait brings to the a market a leasable area of approximately 60,000 square meters and incorporates features such as a hypermarket, a number of department anchor stores and a wide range of specialty stores from fashion apparel for men, women and children, footwear, jewelry, accessories, fragrances and cosmetics, to electronics, toys and products for the home The shopping centre also has a large dedicated food and entertainment area, a 15-screen luxury cineplex and an IMAX theatre in addition to food court restaurants, cafes, a bowling area. Separate entertainment facilities for teenagers and families will complete the entertainment offer. Construction on the project begins March 2006 and completion is expected by autumn 2008.

'360o Kuwait' located in South Surra and will have a gross leasable area (GLA) of around 60,000 square meters. This project will start construction soon and is expected to open by late 2008. The company is also developing a new mega shopping centre. The mega mall is named 'The Mall of Kuwait' with a massive GLA of 130,000 square meters. This is located South Sabahiya and will open its doors to the public in 2009.
