Launched just two weeks ago at the CeBit Exhibition in Germany, the one-X Mobile Edition features the Avaya client for Symbian S60 mobile phones that brings the familiar Avaya Communication Manager features of your desk phone on to your mobile phone. Fully arabized, the solution will allow business travelers across the region to be connected through 'one number', as well as leverage the 'click to dial' functionality from local contacts, and enjoy enhanced security, all in their language of choice.
As the enterprise mobility partner at Avaya's IP Telephony Roadshow, Nokia demonstrated how their new generation of business handsets works with the trusted Avaya Communication Manager software to offer corporate users the ultimate business tool. "Familiarity and trust is paramount to business users on the move" commented Joe Devassy, Sales Manager Enterprise solutions Nokia MNE. "Working with Avaya ensures that our corporate communication handsets are powered with the world's leading IP Telephony solutions to seamlessly synch with desk phones of users around the world. The upcoming Eseries devices - Nokia E60, Nokia E61 and Nokia E70 - combine attractive and easy-to-use designs with new underlying technologies which allow IT departments to effectively manage security settings, corporate applications and data, thus contributing to the mobility of the workforce."
The Middle East has experienced an economic boom over the past few years, with the opening of the real estate and property market, the establishment of financial centers across the gulf, and an overall increase in the regional business travel of Arabic business leaders establishing a pan-regional presence. Delivering an Arabized interface for the Avaya one-X solution was a critical element of the launch of the product in the Middle East.
"Enterprise mobility is only useful if it empowers the user to work from any where, on any chosen device. To fully appreciate the liberties of this solution, the user must be ultimately comfortable with the interface and use it instinctively - to do this is has to be in their native tongue, which we felt is an important tool to preserve and stay close to our Arabic culture" commented Nidal Abou-Ltaif, Managing Director, Avaya Middle East and North Africa.
"Avaya has maintained a number one position globally in the field of IP Telephony (Synergy Research Group 4Q05) by understanding the market, through and through and listening to our customers from all over the world - delivering on their real needs, and empowering their businesses."
The Avaya IP Telephony Roadshow took place in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. There were 280 attendees from both Avaya customers and partners, who heard about a number of topics including the power of 1 mobile device, keeping employees productive from any location, as well as the chance to win a ticket to see Italy play at the FIFA world cup in Germany this summer! Avaya has been a partner of FIFA since 2001 and is the Official Converged Communication Provider for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™. Avaya has designed and installed the communication networks for the 2002 FIFA World Cup™, the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 and the FIFA Women's World Cup 2003.
