UAE takes on thalassemia

The UAE's Mohammed bin Rashid Programme is supporting the drive to eradicate thalassemia by raising awareness about the genetic disease in universities and colleges across the country. The Future Leaders Group says it will encourage students to get tested for the disease before getting married, and therefore breaking the thalassemia cycle.
